PDSG Submetering with DISH
When DISH installs a PDSG submeter, specific information is needed from the landlord’s utility provider in order to start billing and ensure accurate payment to the landlord. DISH will need the Billing Setup Form (See Sample Below) completed and a copy of a recent utility invoice from the landlord’s utility provider. This information will allow PDSG to begin generating bills to DISH on the landlord’s behalf at the correct rate.
Sample Billing Setup Form
If the Landlord wishes to receive a digital copy of the utility invoice being sent to DISH on their behalf they should include an email address in the Utility Bill Submission Field. (See Sample Below)
Once the PDSG Billing Setup Form and Copy of a current Utility Invoice are received PDSG can begin to issue invoices to DISH and payments sent to the landlord.
Manual Sub-Meter Reading
If a non PDSG Meter is installed at the landlord's property this meter will need to be read manually. Below are instructions for how to read an E-mon D-mon CT submeter. This basic explanation can be used to read other types of meters but is only recommended for E-mon D-mon.
The above meter shows a reading of The reading you see in the description below is 17 kwh or 17000 watts statements can be used to read the front face reading on the E-mon D-mon. If the display has changed to show something different. Some models have buttons on the front face that can allow you to change the display, while other models simply interchange between screens every 5 to 10 seconds, in rotation. Please reference your owners manual for specific guidelines on reading your submeter or reach out to the DISH National Utility Team at wirelessutilitymanagement@DISH.com.
Virtual and Manual PDSG Sub-Meter Reading
If the Landlord elects to not have invoices generated automatically to DISH by PDSG the landlord can read the PDSG sub-meter manually either virtually or manually.
Virtually Reading a PDSG Sub-Meter
Below are instructions for each method of reading the PDSG sub-meter. Virtually Reading PDSG Virtual readings can be provided by accessing the PDSG digital porta. To gain access to the digital portal email jjorge@powerdesigngroup.com.

Manually Reading a PDSG Sub-Meter
A PDSG sub-meter can be manually read by looking at the front face of the meter as shown below. The numbers on the screen are outlined in the thousandth. Starting with the right most number that counts as 1000 watts. The reading below shows a total usage of 80,823 KWhs (080,823,000.000 watts). The process here is the same as manually reading sub-meters (See Previous Page).
How to Calculate Usage Cost Manually
Cost calculations require 3 items, Rate of KW per Hour, Amount of KWs used, and the time frame they are used(days, months, years, quarterly, etc.). Below are the basic calculations you will see on an invoice from the local utility company providing service. These can be used but to better understand them we will outline what each item is within the formula.
Basic Formula: KWH recorded (based on timeframe) X Cost per KWH = Total amount due
The details below come from National Grid utility company. The formula you see below is an example of real world data from a real meter. It shows the usage data received from the meter, and the difference between the start reading and end reading as the used KWs.
*Please note that all data above can be used for generalized formulation of invoice totals but does not give accurate information as to how much is being demanded.
